Toil
Repetitive manual work that does not build lasting value and could usually be reduced or automated.
What it is
Toil is busywork that has to be done but does not make the system better over time. Examples include repeated copy-paste steps, manual approvals, or recurring cleanup that could be scripted.
When you would use it
You use toil when you want to describe necessary work that should eventually disappear or shrink.
