Fable
The frontier-class model in the Claude family, representing the highest tier of intelligence and reasoning capability.
What it is
Fable is Anthropic's general-purpose frontier-class model, representing the peak of Claude reasoning capabilities. It is designed to handle the most demanding logic, coding, and multi-step reasoning tasks. While highly capable, it is also computationally intensive, costing approximately twice as much as Opus.
When you would use it
You use Fable when you require the absolute maximum cognitive and reasoning power available, and the complexity of the task justifies the higher cost and latency compared to Opus.
Common operations
- Performing deep architectural reviews and executing complex multi-agent workflows.
- Solving highly abstract reasoning problems and writing/debugging complex algorithms.
