Also called Sourcegraph Cody

An AI coding assistant heavily powered by Sourcegraph's enterprise-grade code search, allowing it to accurately query and understand massive, fragmented enterprise codebases.

What it is

Cody differentiates itself by using Sourcegraph's deep code intelligence graph. Instead of just reading the files open in your editor, it can search across thousands of remote repositories to pull exact context, making it highly accurate for enterprise environments with sprawling microservices.

When you would use it

You use Cody when you work in a large enterprise environment and your AI assistant needs to understand code that lives far outside your immediate local repository.

Common operations

  • Searching across hundreds of microservices to understand how an API is consumed.
  • Refactoring legacy code with an AI that understands remote dependencies.
